IROC-A-THON: We will not use any setups during this race. the only
thing you can change on your cars, is what you have available in the
pits.
There will
be a “marathon” type schedule that is updated and housed in the
“schedule” page of the site. YOU must stay informed and monitor any
changes that may occur within the schedule. This is a MARATHON….so there
will be times that races will be either canceled or rescheduled
depending on the time of year. NRL Admins reserve the right to cancel or
change the schedule at anytime. Though it is likely that NRL admins may
announce any changes…IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to keep up.
In the event that neither of
the primary Admins...Mwils1 and/or Bustersnm are unavailable for a
scheduled race...the NRL requests that the scheduled event moves forward
as planned. Various Nuffers will be assigned Moderator/Admin
responsibilities as needed. Authorized Nuffers will be listed on the NRL
Forum. Please respect and submit to all officials, moderators and admins
of the NRL. If there is a problem with an assigned admin...please honor
the directive of the admin...then you may contact either Mwils1 or
Bustersnm to report your concern.
-
Race lengths will be decided prior to the race event. That will
include at least one pit stop.
-
To maximize flexibility...all races will be unranked and
private. We will send an invite to all those who are prepared to
race.
-
We require all members to use their Xbox Live Gamer tag rather than
a nickname. Drivers can choose any available car when they are
invited to the race track. We will be keeping standings via your
Gamer tag.
-
Show up as early as possible for each race... The race host(s) will
open up the race room at least 15 minutes prior to race time… All
hosts will make every attempt to hit the “RACE” button right on
time.
-
Individuals who are having problems connecting with the host will
only be given one-two chances to get into the race. If you are
having these problems
Click here to try and resolve this issue.
All
officials have the right to make an instant decision if no rule is
established on any arising new issue. Then the issue will be brought to
discussion for evaluating if it needs a new rule or should be on a
base by base decision.
-
THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD AVAILABLE IN THIS SERIES.
-
STANDINGS: Each track will accrue its own standings and be awarded
under the same point system. Please refer to the Point System Page
of the site for details. After each track’s points have been
awarded…all racers and their points will merge into overall
standings.
-
THERE WILL BE A CUP CHASE:
20 Racers
will QUALIFY for the CUP CHASE. The official start of the Chase will be
determined by your NRL Admins and will either be incorporated into the
posted schedule or added to the end of the posted schedule. Each Cup
Chase Finalist will have an opportunity to select a track and race style
for the chase. Even if several Cup Chasers select the exact same track
and same race style. The Tracks will remain a mystery until the racer
who has the honor to select the track has made a decision. This decision
MUST BE REPORTED within 3 days PRIOR TO RACE DAY. If a finalist has
passed the deadline, he/she will lose the opportunity and a NRL admin
will select the track and race style in the finalist’s place. The order
of the finalist will go from 20th place to 1st
place at the end of the regular season….meaning the 20th
place racer will select the first CUP Chase race and the 1st
place Racer will select the final CUP Chase race.
-
NO Qualifying
During the
regular season. There is no need to qualify at all.
The NRL Admins will randomly
assigned tracks for opening day.
Afterward,,,,Track Positions
will be assigned by latest overall standings...in alternating fashion...
(positions 1,3,5,7,9) on Track A and (positions 2,4,6,8) on Track
B. In the event we are more than two tracks...the same format applies.
Example:
Positions 1,4,7,10,13,16...etc = Track A
Positions 2,5,8,11,14,17...etc = Track B
Positions 3,6,9,12,15,18...etc = Track C
If you are racing for the first time and do not
have a place in the standings, you will be assigned to a track after
returning racers have been placed.
NRL Admins reserve the right
to adjust track assignments as needed on race day to ensure an even
split.
Occasionally we may have special events throughout
the season. When this occurs...the NRL admins will notify all Nuffers of
their track assignments...depending on the event. This process will be
clearly explained as needed prior to the scheduled event.
During the
Cup Chase…The Tracks will be assigned by Chase standings order.
The 20
Racers that have qualified for the Cup Chase will be split between Track
A and Track B.
Track A
will consist of the racers standing in an ODD POSITION in the standings
order.
Track B
will consist of the racers standing in an EVEN POSITION in the standings
order.
Example:
When reviewing the latest standings…Racers that are in
1st,
3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th,
13th, 15th, 17th, and 19th
will be on Track A….and the remaining Chasers will be on Track B.
Once the
racers are properly assigned to their tracks….the host will hit the race
button. AGAIN….NO ASSIGNED STARTING POSITIONS AT ALL THROUGHOUT THE
ENTIRE SEASON….INCLUDING THE CUP CHASE.
This
format will continue throughout the Chase and will be based on the
LATEST standings…updated after each Cup Race.
RACING RULES AND GUIDELINES
-
Unforced Cautions
- In an effort to continue to minimize cautions, lessen
opportunity for caution/lag damage and improve our online racing
experience....Anyone causing a
single car
(unforced) caution ANYWHERE on the track... including entering
and exiting pits will automatically have to serve a black flag
within the very next lap after we go green...Like any other
rule...Track officials reserve the right to waive this rule as
needed.... This DOES NOT mean the official will waive the
Flag... it simply means that they can...
- some examples of this rule being waived would be ..Flat Tire
Spins.. loss of controller or wheel etc etc...
- It is understood that 1 could possible be untruthful when
spinning...sayin they got a flat tire or their controller came
unplugged... so again... it's up to the track Official to waive
the flag if he sees fit...
-
NO PRIVATE CHATTING WHILE IN RACE !!
-
You cannot pit under caution. If you want to pit, you MUST pit under
GREEN FLAG ONLY. If you pit under Caution you will be
IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE
If you mistakenly hit the pit button during a
caution, simply press the cancel button and the only
penalty you will receive is going to the tail end of the longest
line, unless you are a lap down.
-
NO INTENTIONAL CRASHING -- Accidents will happen and
retaliation will not be tolerated. If you are seen causing
intentional wrecks you will be booted from the league. If
complaints about your driving style are sent to me you will be
warned and if incidents continue to occur you will be booted from
the league. It is your responsibility to make friends out on the
track, don't be a jerk or a fool and we won't have any problems.
-
If there is a disconnection we will pick the race up where it left off
with a controlled restart. You will restart the race in your
finishing spot before the DC. No quitting during a race. In the
event we have to many disconnects due to EA servers, the host will
close the room and open another. After the race has started and if
no more then 25% of the field has been lost we will continue
racing. Certain circumstances will be tolerated and left to the
decision of the track admin. But if you are seen quitting during
numerous races then you will be removed from the league. If you get
caught up in a wreck and your car won't run with the field that is
understandable and tolerated.
-
NO DRIVING BACKWARDS ON THE TRACK...PERIOD. You will be
booted from the league immediately and replaced.
-
Causing cautions on purpose to bunch up the field will not be
tolerated.
-
Cheating will not be tolerated. If a driver is found to be using
mods or hacks of any kind you will be removed from the league.
-
Mistakes will be made out on the track, and
nobody wants to give or receive penalties, but we all need to be
held accountable for our actions. If any driver violates the rules
on the track, a warning will be issued by a race official. Rule
violations will be tracked for the purpose of penalizing repeat
offenders. The first offense will
be a warning, the 2nd offense will be a points reduction, the 3rd
offense will be a 1 race suspension, and the 4th offense will result
in expulsion from the league.
-
Drivers that are off the pace for any reason should stay out of the
line or racing groove when being approached by faster cars. We all
have bad days and there will be times when you go down a lap or more
for whatever reason. When this happens please give way to those
drivers that are on the lead lap. Give them plenty of room to get by
you. It's okay to fight to get your lap back or to fight to stay on
the lead lap, but if you just can't do it, please give way. Simply
let the leaders know where to pass you (i.e. high or low) then give
way. The favor may be returned to you some day.
-
Be careful when bump drafting. Bump drafting in turns won't
be tolerated unless you are communicating with that racer. If you
are seen bump drafting in turns causing wrecks to happen or I am
notified of it you will be warned for the first offense, penalized
points for the second, suspended for the third and removed from the
league if continued.
-
Any racer who gets a penalty has the right to appeal the ruling
within three days of the race ending.
-
CAUTION DAMAGE - From time to time...EA Servers will cause some damage due
to server glitches during a caution. In the event there is suspected
damage due to a caution...the damage MUST affect at least 25%-30% of
the field to warrant a restart....otherwise the race WILL MOVE
FORWARD.
HOWEVER....if a racer loses his engine as a direct result of the
caution damage and PROPERLY NOTIFIES the field.....the Track
Official MAY apply the DC rule to allow the racer an opportunity to
return to the race.
-
RACE RESTARTS - Other then an EA Shutdown.... Any NRL Race can only be
restarted during the first 65% of the race. AFTERWARDS...THE RACE
WILL MOVE FORWARD. Track Officials reserve the right to make
exceptions under SPECIAL circumstances...which must be explained to
a panel of NRL Admins and Officials to VALIDATE the decision to
shutdown and restart a race during the final 35%.
NOTE:
THE EXACT LAP WILL BE ANNOUNCED PRIOR TO THE RACE AND
DOES NOT CHANGE IF THERE IS AN EARLY DISCONNECT.
Ex - 65% of a 267 Lap Race is 174 Laps. A race cannot be restarted
after lap 174 except for special circumstances as explained above.
-
If approximately 25% of the assigned
racers get disconnected during the first 65% of a race.....then the Track Admin has the
authority to shut down the track and recreate the race with remaining
laps. PLEASE NOTE that the track official will use the Lap Grace Legend
below in determining eligibility.
Road Courses: 5 Laps
Super Speedway: 10 Laps
Speedway: 15 Laps
Short Tracks: 20 Laps
If Racer A gets disconnected from the track they will remain out of the
race, and considered off the track, until the opportunity arises to
re-invite the disconnected racer...based on the DC rule detail
below. Then we will invite everyone back into the race except those
who have a blown engine, and etc..
If other racers disconnect within the allotted DC percentage rule AND before allotted lap grace has gone by Racer A will be
re-invited back into the race with no penalty. If other racers disconnect
AFTER the allotted lap grace, Racer A will go down however many laps after
the grace. When
Racer A gets reconnected he will start at the back of the pack.
For example...if Track A has 8 racers and 2 racers
disconnect...then the Track Admin can restart the track. HOWEVER...If
the Lap Grace Expires between the 2 racers that disconnected...the
race WILL MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT A RESTART...
THIS option is
left to the Track Admin to decide on a case by case scenario and MUST BE
RESPECTED by all NRL Members.
Several Other Examples:
Ex. 1 Racer A disconnects on lap 30
of a superspeedway track. (10 lap grace) and all other racers
disconnect on lap 39. Racer A and everyone will be re-invited into
the race and Racer A will start on the lead lap.
Ex 2 If Racer A disconnects on lap 30 of a
Short Track (20 lap grace) and all other racers
disconnect on lap 46. Racer A and everyone will be re-invited into
the race and Racer A will start on the lead lap.
Ex 3 If Racer A disconnects on lap 30 of a
speedway track (15 lap grace) and all other racers
disconnect on lap 46. Racer A and everyone will be re-invited into
the race and Racer A will start -1 laps down.
Ex 4 If Racer A disconnects on lap 30 of a
road Course (5 lap grace) and ONLY 1 more racer loses connection
AFTER the lap grace...THE RACE WILL NOT BE RESTARTED. A NEW GRACE
PERIOD is based on the last racer who lost connection.
Ex 5 If Racer A disconnects on lap 30 of a
road Course (5 lap grace), and Racer B loses connection on lap
38...RACER A IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO REJOIN TE RACE....The new Lap Grace
becomes lap 38 for racer C. If Racer C loses connection at lap 42
(within the active lap grace) then ALL RACERS Will be allowed back
in the race under the applicable grace...meaning Racer A would be 7
laps down ...Racers B and C will start on the lead lap.
-
PASSING:
Slower cars and Lapped cars that are off the pace will be asked to
yield the preferred racing groove to the faster cars. However all
drivers shall respect the braking points of other drivers. The
trailing driver shall brake earlier when following another driver to
avoid collisions
The
drivers shall not make diving pass attempts entering a corner. A driver
shall abort a pass attempt if he does not have his front axle past the
rear axle of another driver entering the corner.
VERBAL BLACK FLAGS
Now that
we are running Nascar 09...BLACK FLAGS WILL BE TURNED ON.…As Well....The Race official(s) may issue a verbal black flag to a racer who violates a rule
which justifies a Black Flag. It is left to the Race official to use
discretion as to what violation justifies a “Black Flag” during a race.
If you have been "Black Flagged"...you must pull into the pits within 2
laps of the announced penalty. You may do a drive through in the pits.
If you have been Black Flagged and do not agree with the ruling…you MUST
adhere to the order of the race official during the race. After the
race, you may submit a protest of the ruling to be reviewed by Nuff
Admins. Normal procedures on protests will then be followed.
This is a professional and serious league. If
you are seen fooling around, being disrespectful
or lack of sportsmanship you will be removed
from the league. We all want to have a good time
out there but its your own responsibility to
follow each and everyone of these rules.
These rules are established to provide a clean and fun race
