BUSTER TIGHTENS NRL CUP CHASE

WITH WIN AT RICHMOND !!!!

What a Wild and Crazy Night at Richmond !!!! When it was all said and done…..Big Buster and the #16 car made the Cup Chase just a little more interesting with an impressive win…taking the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 for a lap over the field to boot !! The win snapped Jeremy’s 4 race win streak …including the Craftsman and Busch Series. Buster won his second race of the NRL 07-08 season and with just 3 races to go….the Cup is up for grabs !!!! GREAT JOB BUSTER !!!!!

Jeremy took another pole with a solid 20.600 laps time during qualifying…followed by Abbott’s 21.066 and Nino’s 21.133. Buster qualified 4^th with a 21.200 and BigMike rounded off the top 5 qualifiers with a 21.500.

With Mwils losing his car early…here are the details as described

We took the green flag at Richmond International Speedway about 8:15pm last night.  Well at 8:16pm I think the NRL broke a new record.  We lost a car on the first lap, with Mwils buzzing the water barrels slightly blowing his suspension.  Mwils1 keyed the mic “Well…I am done tonight guys; Guess I can go start packing again.” LOL…..Mwils1 was only 22 points away from Big Mike and 6^th place in the Nextel Cup Standings. 

But that wouldn’t be the last of the DNF’s last night.  Polinino made the same mistake around lap 15 damaging his car.  With a yellow engine Polinino asked one more time, “We are still having a competition yellow on lap 100 right.  Well we still had that competition yellow, but Nino was no where around to take advantage of it.  Around lap 30 Nino took the exit of turn 2 a little to hot hitting the safer barrier wall, which pushed him head first into the inside wall, Blowing his engine he was done for the night…..

Abbotttazz lost communication with the rest of the field except for one. (IJEREMY) Making it even harder to pass at Richmond.  But we didn’t find out we had no communication until around lap 80 when Leader Ijeremy was fast approaching KCKevin a lap down, and Bustersnm and Abbot fast on Jeremy’s heals.  Buster made a move to the inside of IJeremy to avoid hitting him when he had to let out of the accelerator to keep from hitting KCKevin.  Buster came on the radio telling Abbot he was slowing down.  But Abbot didn’t hear it.  UH OH. Yup you got it.  Abbot hit Buster in the rear of the car pushing him right in front of Ijeremy.  Ijeremy had no were to go but right into the back of Buster.  Jeremy let off the gas as did buster trying to save his car.  At this time KC was on the bottom of the track Buster was in the Middle and Jeremy had slid up the track on the outside.  THREE WIDE AT RICHMOND……. Great driving by all NUFFERS.  As Jeremy let out of the gas…Buster went by Jeremy, for the lead….Some how they managed not to cause a big wreck and kept racing. 

Lap 101 as we were getting ready for the competition yellow Big Mike spun his car around.  Giving us a good place to throw the yellow flag.  Everyone disconnected from the race rebooted there XBOX and got back online.  This is the first time we held a competition yellow.  The goal ultimately was to allow for race to end without losing connection to EA servers within 50 to go.  This allowed everyone to run the same car at the end instead of getting a new car.  What a success it was. 

9 laps after the restart KCKevin had a little technical problem with his steering wheel.  With Buster following right behind KCkevin as they exited turn 2, KC ran out of luck. His steering wheel lost all power causing him to slam the outside wall then come back across the track and hit the inside wall.  As Buster was just about to make the move to pass him KC’s car came back on the track and slammed back into the outside wall.  But his car wasn’t stopping…… Finally by the time KC’s car blew the engine it was in turn 4, spinning out.   The Yellow flag waved. 

Lap 244:.  As it grew closer to the finish it looked like fuel mileage might just take a part in this race.  Somewhere in the race Big Mike dropped his lucky horseshoe.  As he exited turn 4 Mike got a little too close to the water barrels causing his engine to expire as well.

With only 150 laps to go it change everyone’s pit strategy, because now everyone could make it on one more pit stop.  As we hit 75 to go IJeremy decided to make his last pit stop.  Jeremy fell down one lap while doing so.  3 laps later..Jeremy lost it coming out of a turn and spun the car around.  With Jeremy now 2 laps down and because he caused the caution he didn’t get the lucky dog.  Both Abbot and Buster pitted under the caution, but wait, Abbottt seemed to have only taken one side of tires.  With no word coming from Abbottt it was thought to have been intentional.  The green flag drops and as we complete one lap.  Abbottt was going into the pits, come to find out, Abbott feel pray to another one of EA sports glitches putting him down one lap. 

Buster won the race with a comfortable 1 lap lead over the rest of the field.
