TheGift Survives Late Crash With Chucke!!

Keeps Mwils from Defending With Pocono Win…

 Nufferzzzz!!!!

In a topsy turvy night at the Pocono 500….we saw all kinds of actions…we had an hour delay merging the second half of…some shocking engine shutdowns…some new faces atop the results and …a 1^st time winner in the Nextel Series…and an ALMOST from defending winner Mwils!!! What a night!!

But first…I want to thank all Nuffers who fought through the track merging fiasco. 15 Nuffers showed for this one and even though we lost an hour during the merger…but we got it done and 10 Nuffers were still ready to go. You guys continue to show perseverance…simply awesome fellas.

NOW….What Happened?!?!?!

TheGift happened !!!

Yes…TheGift…fighting with a yellow engine for more than 80 laps in his #43 car….. took advantage of a late caution while UncleChucke was surely running away with the win. The late caution bunched the field again for a green white checkered…which also allowed Mwils…sitting in 3^rd place..a chance to repeat. When the green flag dropped…both Chuck and Gift got off the block strong…but both pushed up in turn 1 so Chucke who raced wonderfully all night and dealt with a red engine over the last 50 laps….still had the lead and was doing an awesome job blocking Gift down the back stretch into and out of turn 2. But TheGift managed to get beside Chuck going into the final turn…and with Gift on the inside and Chuck on the outside…they barreled into the sharp turn 3. Woooo…. Chuck was holding his line on the outside…but Gift came in so hard….he pushed up and along side of Chuck…so coming out of turn 3…Gift…trying to hold on…actually ended up spinning Chuck out of the turn. With Mwils directly behind the two and looking for an opportunity to somehow steal the victory…Mwils thought the collision would take out both frontrunners…but Gift survived and coasted across the finish line for the Win !! “That’s racing” said Mwils…with a front row seat. “I could see that Gift was trying to hold that bottom line…but with it being the last turn of the last lap…he simply went in too hard and pushed up on Chucke.” Unfortunate for Chucke but Wils did not see anything malicious on TheGift’s part. A hard earned victory for TheGift…who will move up in the standings after the victory. GREAT JOB GIFT!!!!

Das right…. Yo Boy Mwils was able to hang around the middle for most of the race….and after losing Top Nuffers Dale and Abbott to the Phantom Engine Blowups :::dayum Servers:::: and losing NRL leader Buster early to car troubles (suspension)… The chances for Mwils to repeat greatly increased!!! Feeling the new hope…Mwils also raced very strong at the end…hitting turn 1 almost perfect over the last 10 laps…and encouraged by a hard chasing DueceyDu in the #2 car…Mwils threw caution to the wind and was right there at the end…:::hey that rhymes::: lol…. His best chance in the #8 car was during the last caution. Confident that he could get under both UncleChucke and TheGift if they pushed turn 1…he would just need to hold them off on the back and fight through the toughest turn of the night for many Nuffers…turn 3. Well….Both Chuck and Gift did push on Turn 1….and so did Mwils!!! ARRRGHHHH!!!!! Oh well…. Mwils still did wonderfully…considering he did not lead 1 lap in the entire race!!! The main key to Wils being in position at the end…was his dubious challenge of fighting the race Leader Osuron with 30 to go!! This was major as Mwils…already 1 lap down… was in position to get the lucky dawg to get back on the lead lap…but Ron (#31)…again….the racer to beat…was ready to put Wils 2 laps down when a caution came out….PHEW !!! LOL !! Kudos to Mwils for a strong finish!!

Rounding off the top 3 was…..YEP…Osuron… “the man” again from the start. Ron led 119 of the 200 laps… dominating most of another NRL race…but dealt with a colorful engine himself at the end….and got really loose as well. But he fought through the tough conditions of his #31 car and took advantage of the last second collision to take 3^rd place and move atop the overall standings !!! Great Job Ron !!!!

Oh I gotta put in some props for your Top 5 !!!! Cause we saw some new faces atop the results!!

DueceydueceyDu raced WONDERFULLY as well in his #2 car and finished a strong 4^th place. Duecey was very strong in turns 2 and one of the best finishers of turn 3 to stay right in the thick of things. The closer we got to the end of the race…the harder Duecey raced…. AWESOME Duecey !!!

And Gabezilla took advantage of the track merger…rounding off the top 5 with a strong finish!!! Gabe also fought in his #26 car…many times holding his line throughout the tough track…in tough spots. He allowed passes when passes were present…and passed cleanly when opportunity arose. Very impressive watching Gabe race tonight !! Congrats!!!!

Other notables…as stated before UncleChucke (#11)..coming off a 2^nd place finish last week at Dover… truly raced a great race….and was in line for the win. That last caution with just a few laps to go really hurt. Chuck had pulled away from TheGift and it looked like he had this one wrapped up. Because so many Nuffers were on the lead lap and not far behind…that unfortunate mishap with Gift dropped Chucke from 1^st to 6^th. ARRRGHHH :::again::: Still….a Masterful Job Chucke!!

So the standings will bunch up even more!!!! Buster took a nasty hit early on lap 26 and lost his suspension. With Ron’s 3^rd place finish…that should move Ron atop the standings.  However…Buster should only drop to 2^nd. Top Nuffers Abbott and Jeremy are lurking right below the top 5…so Jeremy’s missing the race:::big opportunity:::: will probably drop him down a bit… and Abbott’s engine troubles..will probably keep him right under the top 5….for the time being of course…lol. And Dale also had a crazy engine blow…::temp fine…green engine:: around lap 95…and finished 11^th in this one..so he’ll probably drop a bit. There were some big gainers in the overall standings. TheGift should move up with his win…and Mwils should move up as well with his first top 5 finish. Duecey and Gabe’s finishes will also put them in better position. Boy…Michigan is gonna be Big !!!!
