The Streak Continues at Poconos…

Mwils Newest Nuffer to Victory Lane !!!

WOW !!! The NRL now has six …count em…SIX different winners in the last six Nextel races !! This time…longtime Nuffer mwils finally found the winning formula…taking the Poconos 500 last night. “I had to back up the smack talk” in the NRL forum…lol.

After approximately an hour delay to the start of the race…caused by several connection problems due to the new EA patch….which sucks…we finally got going with a “dead heat” qualifying session. Both mwils and NRL leader Abbottazz tied for the pole with lap times of 52.066…lining up 11 Nuffers for the race. We also should note that Ijeremy set a lap record of 51.666 during the Prequalifying session !!! Great time Jeremy !!!

Now back to the winna !!!  Mwils really had his #55 car primed for this one…not only tying for the pole after a disappointing prequel session…he picked up 10 bonus points for leading the most laps…115…and then posting the victory…a hat trick of his own to follow Osuron’s hat trick at Dover last week !! The win catapult’s mwils past BigMike and back into fourth place in the overall standings !!!

 With about 40 laps to go….  Mwils was up comfortably up front during a long green run…but concerned as he knew he would have to time his pit perfectly to be able to finish the race without having to pit. The field had already pitted around laps 160-170 so mwils knew they all would have to pit one more time. His goal was to at least make it to lap 170-172 before pitting..then…knowing the field still needed to pit at least one more time…he could regain the lead and finish!! Well…the strategy worked !! Though mwils pitted under green…falling back to 6^th place with only 18 laps to go…a caution gave the field an opportunity to pit under yellow. The entire field went in to pit except for mwils…who..as a result..was able to jump back ahead of the field with less than 15 laps to go. Despite several cautions during the final laps..mwils was able to get off the block very well each time to stay out front…and coasted to victory under the  final caution of the race. GREAT JOB MWILS !!!!

Pinkpooh (#2) returned to the track in impressive fashion…finishing a strong second after surviving a nasty crash around lap 175 that almost ended his night.  YEA PINK….

And KCKevin (#10) stays hot …rounding off the top 3 finishers with yet another strong race. The impressive showing by KC has given him a stronger hold on the final “Chase for the Cup” slot..holding a strong 191 pt lead over Polinino !! Go KC !!

SEVEN had his strongest finish of the season despite struggling throughout the night in the corners. The constant damage finally took Seven out but he lasted long enough to finish in 6^th place.

For the second consecutive race..NRL Frontrunner Abbotttazz had to deal with a lot of traffic and eventually took a nasty hit to knock the #31 out of the race during the first 100 laps. IJeremy ..holding second..was able to gain 18 pts on Abbott with a 4^th place finish and Buster also gained..rounding off the Top Five.
