Jeremi Takes Coca Cola 600 !!

In a grueling night of racing…12 Nuffers got together to run the final race of the first half..the Coca Cola 600 at Lowes Motor Speedway. Of the 12 cars…Seven were still running after a caution around lap 100 caused a restart. Though there were 14 cautions during the first 100 laps…there were none…countem…NO Cautions during the final 100 laps !! WOW !!!!

IJEREMY STAYS HOT !!

Congrats to Ijeremy…who won his 4^th NRL race…and has moved into 2^nd place in the overall standings !! With approximately 15 laps to go…Jeremy made up 8 seconds to catch BigMike and ran away with the win. As usual Jeremy had his #1 car primed for this one… winning the pole breaking the 29 second barrier. Good Job Jeremy !!

BigMike had a fine night as well and finished 2^nd in the race and has now moved into 4^th place…jumping ahead of mwils in the overall standings. Way to Go BigMike !!

NRL frontrunner Abbotttazz also had a strong car and chased Jeremy around the track for most of the first 100 laps.

Then and unfortunate mishap occurred when both Jeremy and Abbott were closing in on Mwils at turn 1…Jeremy tried to get under mwils and clipped the #55…causing a mwils to lose control and collect Abbott’s #31 car in the wreck…thus breaking Abbott’s suspension and knocking him out of the race. “Very unfortunate”…said a frustrated mwils. For the second time in 3 races..Jeremy has gotten into mwils trying to pass going into a turn. “These guys know I will give way…no need to bogart the track just because you are fast!!” …said mwils…who is determined to maintain his line more and more and not be pushed around so much. Abbott finished in 7^th place but still has a hefty 156 point lead over Jeremy in the overall standings.

And so the first half of the NRL 08 Series is in the books !! The second half will begin after the Holidays…with the first race of the second half scheduled for Saturday January 5^th, 2008…the Autism Speaks 400….a COT event at Dover.

In the meantime….to celebrate a successful first half….we prepare for NRL’s first “IROC” Race…

International Race of Champions, better known as IROC, is an auto racing competition, promoted as an equivalent of the All-Star Game or The Masters. Drivers race identically-prepared cars in an effort to make the race purely a test of driver ability. It is run with a small field of invited drivers (6-12).

This special event during the halftime.... to reward dedicated Nuffers ... is scheduled Saturday December 15^th, 2007 at 9 PM Eastern. This will be very interesting as all Nuffers will start the race under the same car setups… Mwils…the head admin of the NRL will select 12 Nuffers of his choice to race in the special event and will announce the selections during the week. Separate prizes will be earned in this race. The location will be announced no later than Midnight Thursday Night !!
