THEGIFT VICTORIOUS IN TEXAS IROC !!

Sets IROC Lap Record at 30.166!!

 OHHHHHH It was HOT HOT HOT at the Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday as 11 Nuffers got together for the Second IROC race of the 08 Series!!! The cars…well…except for one SUPER IROC car…were pretty even all day….resulting in a shootout at the end for the top 5 spots !!!

In this one….the starting lineup was determined by reversing the results of the first IROC race…won by Buster in Daytona. So Buster started last in this one and Mwils got the pole. The returning invitees were then placed in order…then the new invitees were placed. PRETTY COOL !!!! On top of that….We performed a manual start….get this …in double file !!!!  WOW….and somehow…Mwils completely lost his mic….therefore..not hearing that we were going green….did not take off right away…and those behind him had to check up big time !!!! “Man…everything went mute....then I noticed cars on the outside row flying by !!!   WHAT THA F?!?!?!.... Iol….Wils started yelling…did we go green?!?!  No one answered…lol. Well…somehow we all survived the drop of the flag and the race was on !! Mwils recovered from the tough start and QUIETLY ran in 3^rd place for pretty much the whole race….YEP…Mwils could not hear a thing the whole time !!!  It wasn’t until we had to recreate the race with 17 laps to go that Mwils even got his mic back to communicate.  WOW…

Though we did have a few no-shows on primary invites for this one….which was somewhat disappointing…the alternates stepped in and held their own just fine!! A few couldn’t connect but we certainly appreciated their attempt…and we lost Nuff Champ Abbotttazz at the beginning due to recurring connection issues. As a result….9 Nuffers raced very hard for 84 laps and 11 Nuffers received points!!

TheGift and his Number 2 car was easily the best car on the track!! That’s one super IROC Car!!! TheGift established a track record of 30.166….just barely ahead of Ijeremy’s 30.168!! Though many tried….No one could catch him when he was out front….and though many tried….no one can run away. YEP…Thegift stayed out front all day long….and took this one going away for his first NRL victory!!! Wow….what a nice race to gain your first victory….in a race where a selected number of Nuffers…including alternates…received special invitations to this one !!!

TheGift’s biggest challenge was Jeremy…who was very strong in his #24 car. Mwils was very strong as well in the #45 car…staying right near the front again..matter of fact….everyone raced strong…BigMike, Pink, DiscJockey, Ratty and Buster were all very good in this one!!!

 A manual restart was needed after a caution with just over 10 laps to go. The race was recreated with 17 laps to go as a result…whooo that brought a lot of drama as all cars had to go back to default !!! Though everyone was able to regain a fresh car…with no damage…we all knew it was gonna be a shootout at the very end. Wellll….even with all cars running default…TheGift showed again he was the “Class” of this one….pulling out and away with ease !! Buster…holding second place is his #6 car…was able to pull away from Mwils (#45) going into turn 3 of the final lap as Mwils had to turn his attention to a fast charging Jeremy AND BigMike !!!! …..LOL….Somehow…Mwils was able to fight off Jeremy..who was attempting a passed on the outside down the stretch….Mwils maneuver up just enough to squeeze Jeremy….causing him to “check up”…then all of a sudden….BigMike came FLYING on the inside !!!!!!  Mwils had to squeeze BigMike as well….LOL….and Mike ended up in the grass in his attempt to get around Mwils….WOW….what a crazy finish….Mwils was able to hold off both Jeremy and BigMike to grab 3^rd…..while BigMike capitalized on Jeremy’s “check up” to snatch up 4^th place!! Jeremy rounded off the top 5 !! There had to be less than .05 seconds between 3^rd and 5^th place !!  Amazing !!
