Well Nuffers….After six months and 26 races …… You can Put the First Ever NRL Nextel Season in the books with great success !!! Look forward to a “Year in Review” Article to go over the season and congratulate the Cup Champ

Right now let’s talk about the UAW-Ford 500 race at Dega !!!!

10 Nuffers….including a surprise visit by Ratty…lol… came out for this one. Abbott took another pole….his 8^th of the year…with a strong 49.099 lap to establish a COT Lap record and lead the pack when the green flag dropped. Thegift had a strong prequal time as well…posting a 49.171…followed by Nino’s 49.236. The race started very strong…running green over the first 10 laps….which at Dega…is a long time…lol. Abbott..Gift..Nino..KC and Mwils jump out to a strong 5 car draft and really ran well until the first caution came out. Then it was Abbott..Buster..KC…Gift and Mwils during the restart for another 10-15 laps. Just some great racing!! SEVEN was the first casualty of the race…blowing his engine early on….then we lost Pitt Steeler to Engine problems and Nino a bit later. Ratty could not connect to the race but will finish in 10th place for being present at the start.

LET’S CONGRATULATE long time Nuffer KCKevin !!!!! KC waited till the final race of the NRL 07-08 season to post his first NRL Victory….and what a showing it was for KC and his Number 10 car !! “Boy I’m really impressed with your car KC”…said Abbott….and chased KC’s bumper for the final 30 laps of a strong…clean and WODNERFUL UAW-Ford 500 race at AW-Ford Dega. KC was strong from start to finish….though he started the race in 6^th place after prequals…he constantly stayed with the lead pack….which on many occasions….was 5 strong. KC found himself on the tail end of the drafting pack several times…but skillfully stayed true to his line and never lost the draft. Well right around lap 130…Abbott was out front…as usual…with KC and Pinkpooh drafting behind….Both KC and Pink got a strong run coming out of turn 2 and Pink gave KC and nice bump to shoot KC ahead of Abbott and into the lead. Though he tried….the push was so good that Pink could not follow KC past Abbott and eventually lost the draft….setting up a KC-Abbott race to the flag over the final 40 laps. Abbott…with the Cup Championship sewn up….stayed very clean….drafting behind KC for the remainder of the race. KC was able to comfortably race the final laps and eventually take home the victory since Abbott was not as aggressive as he could have been until the final lap. Now Abbott did press KC at the very end…”OK KC….you gotta hold your line Boss….if you slip up…I’m gonna take a shot at the win” Said Abbott……There was no need for KC to respond…..lol…we all knew KC was really concentrating on finishing a great race and a very successful season !!! KC stayed clean…and the rest is history….CONGRATS KC !!!!!!!!!

Abbott finished a WONDERFUL season with a strong 2^nd place finish….and Mwils had his finest race in some time….finishing 3^rd. Pink survived some car trouble early and finished 4^th while Buster rounded off the top 5. AGAIN NUFFERS….GREAT JOB !!!

OHHHHHH…….But dat’s not all folks !!!! With Jeremy…not present for the final race….. KC…who picked up 10 Bonus points for leading the most laps (72)…and LO AND BEHOLD….with 195 points for the race….KC catapults into 3^rd place in the FINAL Standings….which are unofficial BUT….”I’d say you can take KC’s 3^rd place finish in the overall standings….to da bank !!” Said Head Admin Mwils. WOW !!!!!!  Now that was a SHOCKA !!!!!! I thought for sure the drama was between Jeremy and Abbott…. “I think the terrible week of trash talking may have a bit to do with Jeremy not racing”…said Mwils…who will be reviewing the week’s dialogue very soon. “Well….it’s a COSTLY absence!!!!” …to say the least !! Jeremy…one of the NRL’s most dependable racers…had second place pretty much sewn up…AND was in line to receive and “Perfect Attendance” Award for making every race…..EXTREMELY COSTLY !!!! Buster …who finished 5^th at Dega…moved past Jeremy to finish second…and KC drafted Buster past Jeremy to take 3^rd place in the Final Standings !!! Jeremy will finish in 4^th place….and BigMike will round off the Top 5!!
