DaleReynolds, Bustersnm Get IROC-A-THON Season Started With Big Wins At Daytona!

WOW Nuffers... we had a nice turnout of 14 racers for the IROC-A-THON Opener....the first of a whopping 68 race season!!! Daytona hosted this opener....and there were plenty of Custom Trucks online for this Craftsman Duel. The NRL split the 14 racers into to tracks of 7 each....and with the unique standings format......we can already tell this will be a really close series !!! This one took less than an hour over 75 laps!!

So what happened on Track A???

You guys remember the Nextel 08 Cup Opener? Who won that one? MR DALEREYNOLDS...... Dats Who !!! Well....Dale picked up his 2nd NRL win at the same track....this time in a truck! What was so intriguing about Dale's victory was that throughout the first half of the race....Dale really was quiet...hovering around the front but not really making a lot of noise. UncleChucke and SEVEN were up front all night long...running very strong! Matter of fact....UncleChucke may have been bitten by the "tough luck" bug again as a late disconnect bunched the field with only 6 to go. Chuck was out front with Dale trying to chase him down. But with the restart ...Dale got off the block very well and with just 3 laps to go...got past Chucke...who was strong as ever...finishing in 2nd place and leading the most laps...and SEVEN...who also raced extremely in rounding off the top 3. Dale pulled away and coasted to an impressive victory!!! GREAT JOB DALE !!!!!

Track A

Now over on Track B....another Superspeedway Monsta was in full force !! Buster has won quite a few races at Daytona throughout his NRL Career. He's won Nextel...COT...Trucks..Busch...Tricycles... you name it...Buster's won it at Daytona. Well....no changes here as Buster added yet another Daytona Victory to his impressive totals....Whoaaa....Buster didn't just run over the field though. He took on major challenges from DueceyDu...who finished a strong second...and ADMIN....who led the most laps on Track B !! OUTSTANDING !!!! CONGRATS BUSTER...The Superspeedway Meister !!

Track B

So now we take a look at the impact on the overall standings. First...let's understand the format. Each Track has it's own results...and are awarded under the same point system. OK...ok.... let's try that again.... The Winner on Track A is awarded the same points as the Winner on Track B. Das right....and the "place" points are the same per track as well. So we actually had two individual races....each with the same point system....THEN...the standings get merged into an overall result !!!!  HOT HOT HOT !!!!!

So here is the current standings after race numba 1.

Whooooo boy....so we have 2 Nuffers TIED out front....and no one is more than 44 behind the leaders !!!!!! Buster is out front since he has more laps led of the two...which is the 1st of 3 tie breakers !!

if you are not in on this series....you will really miss out on something special. There is plenty of time to get in...with 47 races to go before the chase starts. These races just barely an hour to run and with default setups and pitting under green flag racing only....we talking major fun AND strategy...mixed together.
