Reaper79 Back In Town... Takes Coke Zero 400 at Daytona !! Standings Continue to JUMBLE !! NEWZZZ FLASH......The NRL Nextel 08 now has SEVEN different Winners in the First Eight Races of the SEASON !!!
Well Nuffers...... The Coke Zero 400 at Daytona was not without fireworks....and since it wazzzzz the 4th of July weekend....should we have expected anything less than a wild one? LOL.... We shoulda known this would be a crazy one since we flipped da script....running a night race in the afternoon instead of our normal setting. Das right...this one was rescheduled to run at 1 PM in the afternoon instead of the normal 8 PM start time. So maybe there were some "Crankiness" due to the early start after probably a late celebratory night for many racers. "We really weren't expecting many Nuffers to show for this one"...said a surprised Mwils...Amazingly...18 Nuffers got together for this rare Saturday Afternoon Race. "Man....what is it about Daytona that brings em out of the woodworks??" Just like the Daytona 500...you had to be REALLY fast in prequals to get to track A....matter of fact...you had to beat a 46.682 to make track A.... WOWOWOWOWOW !!!!! There were quite a few Nuffers that came out for this one who had been MIA since the 08-09 game conversion. That's understandable as many had traded their 08 game in for the 09 game before the NRL was comfortable with the switch. So we'll give them that.... But I can't ignore the lil quote after the Daytona 500 ... you rememba??? the one about the SPEED RACERS and the REAL RACERS?,,, hehheh.. SPEED RACER NUMBER 1.......
In his first race back with the NRL since the Daytona 500...where he posted a strong second place finish.....REAPER79 tightened the overall standings even more with a solid VICTORY on Track A!!! Reaper was one of those who communicated early that he was simply waiting for the NRL to move to Nascar 09.... and in his first race back...Reaper who started 5th in this one...qualified for a track A slot with a WHOPPING 46.378 prequal lap...just off the lap record :::are blacks flags on??::::...then led 35 laps and took advantage of a late mishap between thegift and the frontrunner :::Abbott::: to take home the WIN!!! Great Job REAPER !!! TheGift continues his strong racing with a second place finish....which moved him atop the overall standings!! YA...thegift qualified for track A with a 46.478 prequal lap...ran a coupla laps out front to pick up 5 bonus points..and now sports a slim lead over Buster. Don't look back Gift !!! You got some serious competition coming your way!!! Great Job !!! Guess who rounded off the top 3!?!?!? YAAAAAAA Kmack!!! Very impressive showing Big K...Though he didn't need the guaranteed track A slot after his great track B victory last week...posting a strong 46.585 prequal lap... a relaxed Kmack ran strong...endured.. and grabbed a few bonus points in finishing 3rd. PinkPooh was also very strong here...along with Abbott...who one this one last year and was easily again the car to beat...leading 113 laps...finished off the top 5 !!! SPEED RACER NUMBER 2.......
YEP...Track B had some SPEED racers as well....and who won it over there on track B.... "I'm Not Tellin"..... huh??? But I am tellin...... no no...you don't have to pay me to tell ya.... the Winner of Track B was...... "I'm Not Tellin".... LOL.... Go look at the race results...He drives the #16 car when he's not in one of his Custom Rides.. and I'll give you a hint on his former name..."Sly as a f__" YA...that's him !!!! Well I AM TELLIN you all that he took home and extra 10 bonus points, 300 gamerpoints and a guaranteed slot on track A in next week's race!! Tellin just missed a track A slot with a 46.734 prequal time...but focused well on Track B...leading 35 laps and holding off the likes of track A regulars DaleR...Osuron and Daytona Trackmeister Buster!!!! OUTSTANDING !! Osuron took second place while DaleReynolds rounded off the top 3 ova on track B... OH YEAH....THE FIREWORKS....... Wellll...like I sed earlier...this race had some crazy stuff go on... Just 16 laps in...and running a strong car...Mwils lost a bout with DA wall..on the backstretch after his granddaughter got her hands on a wireless controller and some how knew how to activate it..then hit the paused button!!!! NOOOOO !!!....:::ahhh...dat little Biii....eeeautiful granddaughter of mine....lol. Also over on track B...I believe BigMike lost his car late the race when his dog trip over the racing wheel cord...lol....crazy!!
We shoulda known there were
more fireworks to come.... and with about 50 laps to go over on
track A....we had a major incident between track official Abbotttazz
and XxcorruptedxX. Long story short...X was a lap down but right
behind leader Abbotttazz and bump drafting while waiting for an
opportunity to get by to get back on the lead lap. Abbott was not in
the "givin'" mood...::this was the 4th of July weekend...not
Thanksgiving weekend...lol:: and held his line down low for several
laps. X decided to get a bit aggressive and started bump drafting in
the turns...which resulted in Abbott telling X to back off in the
turns. It seems X wasn't interested in backing off and after several
warnings...including the threat of a black flag...Abbott drifted
ever so slightly then regained his line...but X saw the little
daylight and tried to get under Abbott...eventually spinning Abbot
out. As a result...X was given a verbal black flag for bump drafting
in the corners. X didn't take too kindly to the penalty and for
about 4 laps...they argued back and forth in what could easily have
been a R-rated movie! Again trying to make this short...X ended up
in the pits and suddenly the race started dealing with constant mic
static... which made it very So ya....we had some fireworks of our own on the weekend of fireworks !!! But as usual...we got through it. X was immediately penalized...dropping from 13th place to 18th in the results...and will have an opportunity to plead his case during the investigation as to the events. Datz Dat !! result...Track A had to be shut down with only 40 laps to go !!!
WHOOOAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not good....It's one thing when the EA
servers causes a shut down....but one of my Nuffers?!?!?! It has not
been determined yet that X was the cause of the static...and the
entire event is under a serious investigation. At any rate....the
track was restarted without X...and all the remaining racers
restarted with fresh cars....:::disappointing::: for the final 40
laps. Of course the static was gone and the race was completed.
