Saturday 3/6/10

8 pm Est

Hmmmm.... This will be another one that is TOO TOUGH TO CALL !!! Very similar to last week's Shelby 427 in Las Vegas... there will be many FAST.... VERY FAST Nuffers and it will be all about who can stay out of trouble!! The practice race on Thursday should be pretty busy so Nuffers can get a good idea of how well their cars will be handling Next Saturday Night.

Last week during practice... we had like... 10 cautions within the first 30 laps of a 60 lap practice race... lol. Nuffers were crazy fast but crazy loose as well. BUT... it what turned out to be a horrible practice race... paid dividends last Saturday as 39 Nuffers raced 3 tracks and only had 6 cautions COMBINED !!!! WOWOWOWOWOW.... extra WOWOWOWOW!! YA... Track A only had 1 caution and Track C went caution free !!! Though track B had the most cautions of the weekend with 5... the track still had a very good and clean race!!

So let's see if this week's practice will pay off as well!

What happened last year in the Spring Running of the Atlanta race you ask??
Well...Mr DaleReynolds took the pole with a sterling 27.449 lap. Wait... lemmee stop you real quick and note that "Da Professa" set the Atlanta Lap record during the fall race with a 27.403!! Kelley has already indicated that he is even faster !!! So back to last year's spring race... Here were your top 14 qualifiers last year...

Dalereynolds24 - 27.449
Ijeremy - 27.457
thegift3399 -  27468
IPCSundancekid - 27.537
Abbotttazz - 27.541
miller time - 27.548
kelley1979 - 27.558
bigmike  - 27.564
I'm not tellin -  27.576
platnumpigon  - 27.576
Bwa gunny -  27.590
ultimateassin29 - 27.591
shlick1  - 27.629
smokeythebear  - 27.646

So a 27.646 made track A last Spring... now going back to the fall race... you needed a 27.626 to make track A.... so not to big of a difference... But I betcha you gonna need a sub 27.6 to make track A this year !!

Last year this race was controlled by 2 former Nuffers that unfortunately lost their membership to the NRL a bit later in the season. At any rate..former Nuffer IJeremy... who started really hot last year... won this race and led the most laps... followed by... former Nuffer Draftmaster. Then it was TheGift3399... DaleReynolds and Abbotttazz rounding off the Top 5!! Walt Hamrick won Track B last year and also qualified well last fall !!

So it looks to be another GREAT WEEK of NRL Racing as the teams get to work early in preparation for our first prequal session on Thursday Night 10 PM - 12 Midnight Est!! Team EPR, CPR and HDR have taken early control of team racing.... but ammo tell you what... Team Make Em Cry has been the most consistent in my book... earning 10 points each week since the start of the year for track Wins. Team UMFM and Tazz Motorsports has all the talent in the world but have not been able to get it together yet. DRR is in a bit of turmoil but with a strong Nucleus.. they will be there. There are also a few new teams that are trying to make a name for themselves. Lessee what happens this week!

New Nuffers.... again welcome to the family and make sure you get a message to your NRL Officers if you plan to race this week! We don't wanna miss anyone!

GOOD LUCK NUFFERS
